The British Basketball Association, or BBA for short, is a proposed professional basketball league in the United Kingdom.
The league is backed by a group of American and UK investors and advisers, some of which include former NBA players A. C. Green and John Amaechi, technology entrepreneur Ken Olisa, and Wall Street veteran Ron Scott. It is believed that BBA management has opted for a single entity model with league operations proposed to begin in November 2012.
The league's revised strategy of a single entity model is said to have been chosen in consultation with co-founder Ed Tapscott, the former CEO of the Charlotte Bobcats NBA franchise. Further, the BBA has built a highly capable management team and advisors including NBA marketing executive and former CEO of the Atlanta Hawks, Dr. Bernard J. Mullin, Keith Harris, Chairman of investment bank Seymour Pierce and Lynn Swann, NFL Hall of Fame inductee and Former Pennsylvania Gubernatorial Candidate.
